AW's View...

Arsene Wenger Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks on from the stands as he serves a one match touchline ban ahead of the UEFA Champions League play-off first leg match between Arsenal and Udinese at the Emirates Stadium on August 16, 2011 in London, England.
Wenger: 'I will try to give my best for this Club'

Dear Arsenal supporter,

I feel that Saturday's result was very harsh on us.

My players showed a tremendous attitude but the red card decided the game. Emmanuel Frimpong was very impressive on his debut but he was a victim of his inexperience and of his enthusiasm and heart. He should not have gone into the second challenge. However, he showed qualities that are very interesting and he looks to have a very bright future.

For now it is important for us to lift the players because they were very disappointed on Saturday. We need to give them credit for their attitude and performance and move on because we have a very big game at Udinese in the Champions League.

We have injuries and suspensions at the moment but at the start of the season we have had a heavy schedule compared to other teams because we play in Europe and we have big games in the Premier League. We face Man United after Udinese and we play all the big opponents away from home first, apart from Liverpool. In the second part of the season we play them all at home.

We are still looking for new signings and I will try to do the right thing for the Club. The target is to have a good team and good players because you can spend money and have a bad team.

I want the supporters to be happy and when we don't win the game you can understand that they are not. But we had eight players out on Saturday and we still had a good performance. So it is not all doom and gloom, there are positives as well.

I was asked after the game whether I would walk away from Arsenal and there is no chance of that. I will try to give my best for this Club.
We live under circumstances where every defeat is perceived to be an absolute earthquake but we must remember that we are only at the start of the season. There is a long way to go.

Thanks for your support.
Arsène Wenger
